Meduza may be described as a Swedish all star ensemble. Three fifth of the band are former members of the Autumn Lords. Although the singer Apollo is a Greek, he's also a member of the Swedish power metal band Majesty. Meduza have the same management as Beyond Twilight from Sweden and their album got produced by Mike Wead (Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Memento Mori) and recorded at Andy LaRoque's studio in Gothenborg... and I suppose that they all buy their furniture at Ikea. But let's get serious now. Meduza have not too much in common with metal, but are strongly headed into old seventies hardrock la Rainbow or Deep Purple. Classical influenced guitar licks are meeting groovy metal structures, and so comparisons with Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica or Majesty are inevitable. Maybe this is a good combination of the seventies with the nineties, but to me, the album is too playful and doesn't come to the point directly, which I regret. Nevertheless, Meduza are great musicians and they have a powerful singer.
