Seydr from France definitely have quite a lot to offer on their EP Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining. The band comes from the southwest of the hexagon and has been around only since 2009. Their mission is to combine death metal with industrial and melodies.

The opener Half Death can be described as progressive death metal where occasional bizarre structures manage to intrigue. My Genesis is somewhat darker but also more atmospheric, allowing comparisons to early Celtic Frost. This is followed by the title track which is definitely the most brutal and extreme track on the EP. Driving Rain is groovier, with a pleasant slightly triggered drum sound. Finally, on Hourglass, the band displays one last time their entire repertoire. This track possibly contains more ideas than everything which preceded it.

The EP can even be downloaded for free on the band’s Bandcamp page. Anyone missing out on this treat will have to live the rest of their lives without ever having known one of the most promising metal bands from France, a country whose scene has been immensely growing these last few years.
